Policy for Changing and Juniors Playing in Open age cricket

The club has applied the following guidelines which apply in regard of using changing facilities.

  1. Players under the age of 14 should wherever practicable get changed at home and arrive at training and games in their appropriate sportswear (Whites for games and sportswear for training)
  2. Players aged 14 to 16 may wish to use club changing areas during junior games. No pressure should be put on them to do so however and parents should be aware that coaches may need to enter the changing areas at any time for team and game supervision. If parents are uncomfortable with this they should ensure that their young player gets changed at home as per point 1.
  3. In the event that Players aged 13 and under need to get changed at the club, they must be supervised at all times with their parents present or with 2 adults of the same gender. In this case, the parents should inform the coach prior to going into the changing area.
  4. In the case of females playing in the mixed gender teams at any age group, due to the lack of separate gender changing rooms they should always get changed at home. In extremis, they can use the disabled toilet.

Junior Players in School Year 9 and above, or in School Year 8 (with the express permission of senior club coaches) are eligible for selection to play in Senior (Open Age) cricket. In this case;

  1. If adults and young players need to share a changing facility, they must do so at different times.
  2. If young players are present in a senior team, mobile phones must not be used in changing rooms due to the risk of inappropriate photography or filming.

All coaches, Team Captains, Vice Captains and adult scorers are DBS checked.
