Hello,
Welcome to Romiley Cricket Club.
We hope that you enjoy being a member of the club and make the most of all the opportunities available to you, whether that be, cricket training and matches. Most importantly cricket is fun, it will give you the opportunity to make new friends and enjoy social activities.
The aim of this letter is to provide you with information that may be helpful to you. Please feel free to come to me or your coaches if you have any questions.
In order for you to make the most out your involvement with Romiley Cricket Club there are things the club would like you to know: –
- You are always expected to be respectful. In joining the club, you are agreeing not to act in a violent manner or use bad language.
- Look after all club property and equipment.
- Do not argue with umpires, managers, coaches or other players.
- Applaud good cricket, whoever plays it.
- Watch and support your team and club, even when not playing.
- Listen and learn – follow instructions. Do not talk when the coach is talking. Be sure you understand, what you are being asked to do, if you don’t, ASK.
- Encourage each other and be supportive at all times.
- Keep good time – arrive early for training sessions and matches.
- Advise the manager in good time, if you are going to be absent or late.
- Enjoy yourselves, work hard, always try your best and show a positive attitude at all times. Have Fun!
Everyone at the club wants you to be safe and to have fun. All the adults at the club who work with children are checked and vetted by the England and Wales Cricket Board. Whilst we hope you will be happy at the club, we understand that sometimes questions, concerns or difficulties may arise.
If something is worrying you, don’t keep it to yourself.
Please tell someone as soon as possible if you have a concern for yourself, about another child at the club or if you are worried about the behaviour of an adult at the club.
You can speak to me, the Club Safeguarding Officer, your parent / carer or another member of staff at any time.
We do hope that you enjoy being part of Romiley Cricket Club. If you have any concerns, at any time, do please let me know. Becky
